Note: A standard or bounce flash is available as an add-on but most people won't need this as the camera features a small pop-up flash on its battery grip.

The circa 1986 Olympus OM-77AF (called the OM-707 in some countries) was the company's response to Minolta Maxxum 7000. This technologically advanced autofocus and motorized 35mm SLR would be the only true autofocus OM-series camera (but it's compatible with manual focus OM lenses). The included lens is a compact and flexible Olympus OM 35-70mm 1:3.5-4.5 (9 elements in 8 groups). The camera also includes the 'Powergrip 300' which features a small, built-in flash (it also includes a hot-shoe which can be used for larger flashes).

Although Olympus didn't "win" the autofocus war against its bigger rivals (Minolta, Canon, and Nikon), the OM77AF remains a capable camera that's very fun to use. Olympus was so confident of its exposure technology that the company ran an unusual campaign in the mid-to-late 1980s where they would reimburse customers a dollar for any "bad" photo they took with the OM-77AF (up to 24 of them... some people are incorrigible bad photographers by nature).
