First released in 2001, the Nikon SB-50DX Speedlight is a powerful, feature-rich and cleverly designed flash.
This flash is sometimes maligned for its use of lithium CR123 batteries but we see a lot of advantages (e.g. fast recycling time, light weight, an estimated 260 flashes per set, no leakage, long shelf life, etc.). And thanks to the popularity of these batteries in flashlights, they're very affordable when purchased online.
We also love the fact it can be used in combination with the built-in pop-up flash of many Nikon SLRs for a double flash configuration.
This flash requires two CR123 lithium batteries (available as an option).
This flash was tested with multiple cameras and is working correctly. It is in excellent cosmetic condition (see photos)
